In conjunction with Corrodere, a global training provider in corrosion control with the use of protective coatings, the Highways Electrical Skills Academy is providing surface preparation and coating application courses to its members which meets the requirements of the Highways Agency Sector Schemes.

A number of training units are provided in an innovative training system that can be used by non-skilled coating applicators including health and safety, surface preparation, coating types and coating application.

About the Course

  • The training and assessment is a mandatory requirement for surface coating operatives working on NHSS 8 contracts and for operatives registered to the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS) with Main01 Painting of Structures.
  • Accredited by HESA
  • Course suitable for fettlers, brush painters and spray painters
    • Fettler course duration 1 day
    • Brush painter course duration 2 days
    • Spray painter course duration 3 days
  • Training and assessment has both practical and theoretical elements.
  • This training provides the required level of underpinning knowledge to meet the Highway Electrical Apprenticeship and NVQ Qualifications.
  • Delivery of the course is undertaken by qualified SSPC Trainthepainter trainers.
